On Feb.25, Mr. PAN Feng, YUAN Hengyong, SUN Changyu and LIU Hongwei went to 711 Institute to inspect the construction work of the new scientific research vessel named Shiyan-1for multi-purpose marine surveys.

711 Institute was mainly in charge of the research and development of power supply of the vessel, power propulsion system, automatic system, vibration and noise reduction, network system, and finally integrating all these components for the dockyard. Since November 2006, 711 Institute began to be engaged in the overall design, equipment ordering, producing and purchasing and some other work. At present, all the parts were ready for the testing and debugging on land.   

In the construction spot, the overseers looked at the power supply equipment, vibration and noise reduction device, water load and so on. The overseers highly praised the smooth going-on of the project and pointed out that safety and quality was the primary goal. In addition, they asked the group to make a full and exact testing and debugging. CHEN Gang, deputy secretary of 711 Institute said the whole institute paid high attention to this project and they were full of confidence to finish the task on time.
