On Mar.14, NSFC carried out mid-term exam to the research on "The sound field in inhomogeneous anisotropic porous formation borehole", which was jointly undertaken by IACAS, China University of Petroleum and Jilin University in Beijing. Mr. ZHANG Shouzhu from the NSFC chaired the meeting. Academician XIA Jianbai from CAS Institute of Semiconductors was appointed to be group leader. The group members consisted of Prof. QIAN Menglu from Institute of Acoustics of Tongji University, Prof. CHENG Jianchun from Institute of Acoustics of Nanjing University and Prof. FU Ligeng from CAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics. Ms. LI Ying from Science and Technology Department of IACAS took part in the exam.  

Prof. ZHANG Hailan, the principal of the program made a detailed report to the research from the following aspects: the source of the topic, the main content of the research, the current research situation, international exchanges and so on. After listed to the report, the examination group members held a warm discussion and paid a visit to some key laboratories. Finally, the members unanimously confirmed the progress obtained by the research group and gave "A" mark to the research. In addition, the experts and professors put forward some valuable advice and suggestions. The leaders of NSFC highly praised the joint efforts and collaboration between the partner units and gave some instructions for the future research.

As the members of the research group, Prof. WANG Xiuming and Associate Prof. LIN Weijun of IACAS, Prof. WANG Kexie of Jilin University, Prof. JU Xiaodong and Che Xiaohua of China University of Petroleum also presented the exam.
