On Apr.8, Associate Chief Engineer CHEN Guohua from Daqing Petroleum Logging Company of CNPC was invited to IACAS to give reports titled "The current research on electric logging in oil-gas reservoir evaluation and related mathematics problems". Mr. Chen was engaged in well-logging work for many years and was the principal of many related research programs. He published academic papers in the journals home and abroad and was granted many patents. Mr. LIN Weijun chaired the seminar and Prof. WANG Xiuming, Prof. ZHANG Hailan and Prof. ZHANG Binxing presented at the meeting.

In the report, Mr. Chen first introduced several critical steps in petroleum production and pointed out well logging was an important method in oil-gas reservoir evaluation. Based on his rich working experience from practical researches, he made an introduction on the role of digital model in well logging, the general digital models and computing methods. He took vivid examples to illustrate the application of digital model in well logging and parameter design of related devices. At last, he made a conclusion on the problems in practical work and potential researches in the future study. Friendly discussions followed after the report.
