(ZHANG Qingqing from ThinkIT lab) On May 16, Professor Masato AKAGI, associate professor Masashi Unoki and assistant professor Junfeng Li from school of Information Science of JAIST(Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) visited IACAS and had academic exchanges with students. Deputy Director ZHANG Chunhua presided over the seminar and communicated with Professor Masato AKAGI in the atmosphere of cordiality and friendship.

JAIST strives to be a first-class research institution, and aims at making serious contributions to the development of modern society. They create an educational and research environment for future leaders, who will further science and technology into future generations. The leadership of school of Information Science, Professor Masato AKAGI now takes the charge of associate Director of Japanese Acoustical Society. In the seminar, Professor Masato talked about works on Speech Segregation and Recognition based on Human Auditory Mechanisms; associate professor Masashi also discussed his work on Comparative Evaluations of Robust and Accurate F0 Estimates in Reverberant Environments. Listeners discussed about the details with them after the seminar.

ThinkIT laboratory of IACAS and school of Information Science of JAIST made common cause with each other to apply for speech researches on "Intelligent speech interfaces for ubiquitous communications" together (from April, 2008 to December, 2010).
