Excellent Safeguard, Successful Olympiads

The 29th Olympic Games was successfully closed on Aug.24 in Beijing, which implied the underwater security task of Sailing games obtained a complete success.

 

This safeguard task was cooperatedly undertaken by IACAS and Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics. As early as in April, 2007, the CAS High Tech Bureau and Sailing Committee of Bocog signed agreement to provide underwater inspection and scanning service for 29th Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. In March, 2008, the two sides added the safeguard task into the agreement based on the former one.

 

The researchers from our institute and CAS Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics garrisoned the base since the early July. They worked hard and successfully finish the devices' installing and debugging work. The colleges collaborated and cooperated strenuously and orderly, which ensured the smooth progress of the event. Their arduous and excellent work obtained high praise from the visiting leaders.

 

The success completion of this task fully boasted the research ability and excellent sprit of the colleagues in CAS. The group determined to work harder and provide good service for the Paralympic Games.
